MCB and OEB faculty Cassandra Extavour is one of the 33 distinguished scientists to be named as a 2021 HHMI Investigator. The prestigious award, funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI), provides HHMI Investigators a minimum of $9 million in research funding over a period of 7 years, with the option of subsequent renewals.
“I was extremely pleased to hear that Cassandra would be named as a new HHMI investigator; this is a great choice by HHMI, and terrific news for both MCB and OEB,” says MCB Chair Sean Eddy. “An HHMI investigator position offers a foundation to build a highly creative and ambitious research program, and Cassandra is the right person to make the very most of it.”
